Today we had a first Crit with Lee, which was a chance to show him what we have done so far.
This is a our first full draft of War of the Roses, and everything seems to be coming together now. The visual edit is almost there, with minor alterations needed like the holding of some of the victim shots to improve comic timing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ1vmWRPZXI&feature=youtu.be
We also thought the first 20-30 seconds of the piece is the weakest and as we are sticking to a 5 minute restriction every second counts and those extra seconds might be better used in extending the other more visually appealing and narrative essential shots. We had a group meeting afterwords and all sat down and watch the edit together and said what we thought works and what could be improved. Oscar the Editor is working on the improvements we decided on for tomorrow, where we will all watch it together as a group again. Also Victor the sound recordist has transferred all the sounds to Elliott, the sound editor, who is matching the dialogue and sounds up, who has not run into any problems regarding the audio, which is great.
